SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Terrill Middle School has planned virtual celebrations for the end of the year to celebrate its eighth grade class.
In a letter sent to parents, Dr. Kevin Holloway wrote:
We have now turned our attention to planning for the end of the year. We are working diligently to maintain the spirit of celebration that coincides with the culmination of school. These seminal experiences will certainly look different to those in the past but we hope to preserve the excitement that goes along with them.
Some of the plans are set; others are still in process:
Field Day: The Physical Education Department at both middle schools have planned events that will take place on the morning of June 12 (in lieu of classes for that day.) The school will send out more information this week about what this will look like.
Eighth Grade Dance: The school has secured a virtual DJ for the dance on the evening of June 12, It will be a joint event for both Park and Terrill Middle Schools. The music will live-stream music beginning at 7:00 p.m. so that students can have a dance party at home and FaceTime/Skype/Zoom their friends to join in! (The link to the dance will be emailed to students and parents on the day of the event.)
Evening of Recognition: Terrill's "Evening of Recognition" will be held virtually on June 18 at 7:00 p.m. It will feature key aspects such as our speeches and the presentation of the class” live on YouTube.
