SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Two township businesses were broken into and robbed of cash left in the register early Thursday morning. Sheer Precision hair salon on Westfield Avenue and Osaka Sushi on Park Avenue were each targeted.

“At 6 a.m. this morning, we received a call about a break in on Westfield Avenue," said Scotch Plains Police Captain Brian Donnelly. "The owner had come in early and discovered that thieves has gained entry through the glass door in the back and had taken an undermined amount of cash from the register.

“We then received a second call later in the morning from a business on Park Avenue that thieves had gained entry by prying open the rear back window and taking an undetermined amount of cash from the register.”

When asked if this spate of break-ins could be related to the one 18 months ago, Donnelly replied, “This M.O. is pretty bland and it would be hard to say if it was connected.”

Meanwhile, two business owners are left to deal with securing their businesses, paying insurance deductibles on a ruined door and window and figuring out how to keep their businesses secure in the future.

Now the question is, was G‑d really homeless? ...
