Thomas' 3 TDs Steer SPF to 27-12 Victory over North Plainfield


NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Emendo Thomas ran for three touchdowns and Scotch Plains-Fanwood broke a three-game losing streak with a 27-12 victory over North Plainfield Friday night in North Plainfield.

Thomas also threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Jensen in the second quarter to give the Raiders a 20-6 lead. Thomas' 17-yard TD run gave SPF a 6-0 first-quarter lead before North Plainfield answered with a 31-yard TD pass from Kyle Grant to Hasani Eason to tie the game 6-6.

Another 17-yard scoring run by Thomas in the second period gave Scotch Plains-Fanwood a 13-6 lead (Andrew Ciccarino kicked the extra point). After Jensen's TD, North Plainfield closed to within 20-12 before halftime on Grant's six-yard TD pass to Ceisean Tucker-Grimes.

After a scoreless third quarter, Thomas' one-yard TD run on a keeper in the final quarter put the game out of reach.

Thomas finished with 169 rushing yards (on 17 carries) and 64 passing yards (completing three of six passes). Kobe White rushed for 82 yards on 20 carries for the Raiders, who are 2-3.
