UNION COUNTY, NJ -- Looking to create one-of-a-kind home decor? Want a fun night out with friends? Or seeking enriching experiences for your children? Do you want to learn how knit or make jewelry? Here are local businesses that offer tons of ways to dive right into arts and crafts. Whether it’s a one-time activity, group event, or weekly classes, there’s something for everyone right here in our towns!

AR Workshop in downtown Westfield is a hip place to make a custom wood sign, centerpiece box, canvas pillow or many other on-trend DIY projects. They make it so easy and it’s fun to go with a group. They even have a bar... bring your own beverages of choice.

Art Lab in Westfield offers a program of creative, fun and educational art classes and summer camps for kids from pre-school to 13 years of age (teen and adult classes too). They do painting, drawing and sculpture projects for all skill levels.

ARTeVINO Studio in downtown Cranford is an art and wine studio for BYOB art classes, private parties, corporate events and kids painting activities. Their artists guide you through the creative process and help you complete your artwork.

Fire Me Up! Studio, also in downtown Cranford, is the place to go to paint your own pottery pieces, whether on your own or as a party. They also offer glass-fusing projects and adult/children classes for handbuilding and sculpting clay.

Indigo Art Studio in the center of downtown Westfield is a great choice for kids’ art themed birthday parties. The beautiful, historic and unique space is also available for small adult parties and events as well. Some of the party themes include cupcake decorating, canvas painting, craft painting and decorating, yoga, karaoke, and they even have a bounce room!  

Just Bead Yourself, also in downtown Westfield specializes in beaded jewelry creations offering birthday parties, camps, walk-in workshops and BYOB adult nights.

Knit-a-Bit in Fanwood is the place to go for everything related to knitting or crochet. They offer a variety of classes for all levels of experience and any supplies you may need are sold in their store.

South Avenue Arts in Garwood offers studio space for rent, kids' and adult art classes, summer camp, and an art gallery selling handmade local art, jewelry and gifts. Their unique space is also available for fundraising event rentals, Sunday party rentals, kids birthday painting parties, and group painting parties.

Urban Sewciety in Westfield, across from the train station lot, offers a supportive environment for kids and adults with projects and fabrics that appeal to all. Using beginner sewing machines, they create customized, age-appropriate projects for kids - like emoji pillows and tech cases. Some of the adult projects include tote bags, espadrille shoes, zipper pouches, wallets and of course, clothes.  

Hobby Lobby on Route 22 in Springfield has supplies for just about any project you can imagine. Great for when you’re feeling creative and already know what to do. They occasionally offer classes for a variety of crafts.
