SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Union Catholic joined the national collective voice on Wednesday morning with a student-led, school-wide prayer service.

The prayer service, preceded by a video statement from Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin, took place for 17 minutes in memory of the victims at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

"Prayer is part of our Catholic identity here at Union Catholic, so what better way to honor the victims and this call for justice than with prayer,'' said Mr. John Becht, Union Catholic's Campus Minister. "The prayer service was for all the victims of this senseless violence, so we prayed for peace. It's who we are as a community. Union Catholic stands together and we are focused on this national call.''
