Union County College’s Drama Club to Present “12 Angry Jurors”

CRANFORD – Union County College’s Drama Club will be performing for their spring show the play, “12 Angry Jurors,” as adapted by Sherman L. Sergel and based on the Emmy award-winning TV movie by Reginald Rose. The play is based on the same plot as “12 Twelve Angry Men,” but by being named “12 Angry Jurors” both men and women appear in the production.

All performances are free and the public is welcome to attend. Performances will be held at the College’s Cranford campus in the Roy Smith Theater on Thursday, April 26; Friday, April 27; and Saturday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. A performance will be held at Snyder Academy in Elizabeth on Saturday, May 5, at 7 p.m.

Union students in the cast and their roles: from Elizabeth - Emily Del Toro as Juror 2 in the performances in Cranford and Sophia Fiorito as Juror 2 in the Snyder Academy performance, Kevin Angulo as Juror 8, and Adriana Miranda as Juror 11; from Cranford – Kaitlin Young as Juror 4 and Joshua Lawrence as Juror 10; from Linden – Frenel Legentus as Juror 6, LaQuan Harris as Juror 9, and Valerie Sanchez as Juror 12; from Roselle – Louis Gaudin as the Foreman; from Union – Jordan Brown as Juror 3; from Roselle Park – Edward Castelan as Juror 5; from Kenilworth – David Rei as Juror 7; and from Bayonne – Armando Cuadro as the Guard. The Director is Union’s Academic Specialist of Theater Arts Michael Hegarty and the Assistant Director is Union student Sophia Fiorito.

The play is funded by the Union County College Foundation’s Roy W. Smith Public Affairs and Cultural Endowment Fund. The College’s Cranford campus is located at 1033 Springfield Avenue.
