SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – The Scotch Plains police received a call of an armed robbery in progress at the Sunoco located on the 1700 block of Route 22 East on Thursday, May 18, at 10:30 p.m. According to Scotch Plains Police Chief Ted Conley, both the convenience store and gas station attendant were robbed at gunpoint. 

There are two suspects: one was described by a witness as a black male, wearing a hoodie, ski mask and gray sweat pants and armed with a long black firearm. The only description of the second suspect was that he was wearing gloves and was armed with a black handgun. Both suspects fled the scene on foot heading westbound on Route 22 with an undetermined amount of cash.
