FANWOOD, NJ -- Where do I vote if I don't want to vote by mail?

If you live in Fanwood, the answer to that question is the Fanwood Memorial Library (5 Forest Road, Fanwood), where Union County today installed a secure ballot drop-off box for this upcoming Nov 3rd General Election.

The drop box is among 15 that are currently open throughout Union County. Union County Board of Elections Administrator Nicole Dirado today said her office plans on opening a total of 22 drop-off boxes in upcoming weeks. At this point, the locations for Scotch Plains have not been finalized, according to Deputy Township Manager Margaret Heisey, who expects to have the information soon.

The boxes are under 24/7 camera surveillance, and ballots are picked up on a daily basis by a bipartisan team of Union County Election Board employees. For more information and a complete list of ballot boxes, go to https://ucnj.org/boe.

Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr reminds residents that those who are not registered to vote still have until October 13 to register in order to participate in the upcoming November election.

The current list of drop boxes in Union County is on this web page. Poll Locations will have provisional ballot voting only. Except for the disabled, you will not be able to vote in person on Election Day (Nov. 3). Be sure to sign your ballot.
