SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- In its first year as a varsity sport, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood boys volleyball team has exceeded anyone's expectations by advancing to the finals of the Union County Tournament following Wednesday's 2-0 win (28-26, 25-9) over Linden.

Many Raiders contributed to the win: Braedon Cooke had 24 digs, Adam Glod contributed 9 service points and 26 assists, Peter Sailsman and Ethan Johnston each added 7 kills, and Ryan Metzger had a huge all-around day with 8 service points, 9 kills, and 9 digs.

With the win, the top-seeded Raiders advance to the finals of the tournament against No. 3 Summit, which defeated Westfield 2-0 (25-18, 25-21). The championship game will take place at Kean University on Friday, May 18.
