FANWOOD, NJ -- Mayor Colleen Mahr and the Fanwood Council honored Environmental Commissioner Sandra Redder as the Volunteer of the Month at Monday's Borough Council meeting.

A 15-year resident of Fanwood, Sandra joined the Environmental Commission 12 years ago. She has been involved in many of its projects, including preservation of the Fanwood Nature Center, the Rain Garden and Butterfly Garden in front of Borough Hall.

Redder was an original member of the “Green Team” that succeeded in getting Fanwood certified as a Sustainable Jersey town in 2011.

“She’s been a good friend to Fanwood because she cares,” said Mayor Colleen Mahr, who presented Redder with a framed print of Fanwood's historic train station.
