EDISON, NJ -- Middle School students at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison who participated in the first Creative Movement class presented their work in a showcase on Feb. 14 in the Berry Performing Arts Center.

W+H partnered with The Mason Gross Masters in Dance Education Program to offer a Creative Movement class to teach students how to express themselves and their creative ideas through choreographed movement and improvisation. Creative movement training leads naturally into the study of a variety of dance forms. It is also a form of physical recreation that strengthens mind, body and spirit providing children with a healthy release from the challenges of day-to-day life while promoting positive socialization.

The students, under the guidance and expert instruction of Maeve Dougal, demonstrated the new steps and combinations they learned during the course. Many weeks of instruction and hard work culminated in a solid performance.
