Whole Foods to Open at Nearby Clark Commons in August

CLARK, NJ – Area residents eagerly awaiting their chance to shop at Whole Foods, have only a short time to wait. Whole Foods is planning to open its doors in conjunction with the Clark Commons Grand Opening on August 7.

Whole Foods trademarked itself as “America’s Healthiest Grocery Store™.”  According to Michael Sinatra, Public Relations Manager for the Whole Foods Market Northeast Region, the store in Clark will offer a wide array of natural and organic products. It will feature Whole Foods signature chef-made, hot and cold prepared foods for meals on the go, specialty departments such as a bakery, seafood, meats and Whole Body.

Something different will be an in-store restaurant and bar. In the past few years, Whole  Foods began opening bars serving craft beers, wines and food. Currently, less than 100 of its stores include the pub concept.

“They have become gathering places in the community," according to Sinatra. "People will come in to try the assortment of beer and wine and then get some food and hang out with friends or use the Wifi.”

“I want them to see the quality standards we have first. Once they see the quality, the level of items we procure and the amount of local items we carry, they can feel good about what they feed their families.”

Operating a 41,000 sq. ft. store takes lots of personnel. The store will have a team of approximately 175-200 members, including a large number of new hires and veteran employees.

“Whole foods has been voted one of the best companies to work at for the last 17 years," Sinatra said.
