FANWOOD/SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Thursday from 6 p.m. into Friday afternoon. Heavy snow, strong winds and dangerously cold wind chills are expected.

The prediction is for 4 to 8 inches of snow, high winds up to 25 mph with a wind chill of 5 below zero and temperatures that will dip into the single digits by Friday.

Heavy snowfall with blowing and drifting snow will create hazardous road conditions and residents are advised to limit travel, especially on Friday.  Residents are asked to park vehicles off road whenever possible to assist with snow removal.
