Wrestling: Cannon, Wustefeld to Compete in Region 4 Tournament at Union High School on Saturday

UNION, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School junior Jack Cannon will compete at the Region 4 Tournament on Saturday at Union High School, following to his victory over Michael Massa of Seton Hall Prep on Wednesday.

Cannon and fellow co-captain Sam Wustefeld, who drew a bye thanks to his No. 1 ranking in the 182 lb. weight class, were the only two Raider wrestlers to advance following Wednesday's first round action.

  • 106 lbs.: Xavier Laracuente, Woodbridge defeated Michael Fleck, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 6-2.
  • 113 lbs.:  Luke Hoerle, Westfield pinned Jeremy Lenart, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 4:17.
  • 132 lbs.: Jack Cannon, Scotch Plains-Fanwood defeated Michael Massa, Seton Hall Prep 6-1.
  • 152 lbs.:  Alex Mastronardi, Bernards pinned Nicholas Palazzolo, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 3:52.
  • 195 lbs.: Dylan Budnik, Cranford pinned Eddie Smith, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 4:43.
