SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ – Wednesday proved to be another tough night for Raiders wrestling as their 46-21 loss to Governor Livingston brought their record to 10-8 on the season.

Gov. Livingston dominated the entire match by winning 10 out of the 14 weight classes, including pins from Nicholas Mele (126 pounds), Quinn Haddad (160 pounds), Turner Haddad (170 pounds), Jack Blasch (195 pounds), and Sean Tomlinson (285 pounds).

Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s assistant coach Jesse Martinez, filling in for an absent Marc Fabiano, said the team can still learn from the loss.

“As a team we have to improve offensively, defensively, being smarter, and reading our wrestlers. Fortunately, for us all our guys are healthy which is great this deep in the season,” Martinez said.

The Raiders did have some bright spots in Michael Fleck (106 pounds) and Justin Sidebottom (113 pounds), who provided back-to-back pins to keep their team in the match. Jashmar Philippe (132 pounds) added a convincing win as he pinned his opponent in a mere 33 seconds, and heavyweight Bobby Mount battled through a back and forth match to earn a 16-9 decision.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood will try to end their three match-losing streak when they take on rivals Westfield at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5 at home.

Sinai or Sanctuary?

And in the beginning, G‑d was homeless, and so G‑d asked His people to set Him up with some digs. Where does it say that? Well, nowhere, actually. But it does say that G‑d instructed Moses to tell the people, “They shall make for Me a Sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.”

Now the question is, was G‑d really homeless? ...
