SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — Stephanie Judge’s senior season has been nothing short of a success. Her recent accomplishments in the pool land her this week’s Yeti MMA Athlete of the Week honors.

On Thursday, Judge, a UMASS commit, took home a victory in the 50 freestyle race with a career-best time of 26.03 against New Providence. Additionally, Judge was victorious in the 200 medley relay, along with Anna Dunchus and Rachel DeFabrizio. The trio swam to a time of 1:56.48 to capture the win.

Likewise, Judge turned in one of her finest performances of the season on Jan. 12, when she was victorious in the 100 butterfly race (57.13) and 100 backstroke competition (59.81) in Scotch Plains’ defeat of Montgomery.

The 26.03 50 freestyle performance on Thursday and 57.13 100 butterfly competition win on Jan. 12 are Judge’s best performances in those categories of the year. Thursday’s 50 freestyle time was Judge’s best time in that race of her four-year varsity career.

“Stephanie Judge is a talented swimmer," said Scotch Plains-Fanwood Swim Coach Jess Hulnik. "She always puts forth her best effort for her team."

Judge’s Raiders are off to a scolding-hot start in the 2016-17 season. The lady Raider’s swim team is 11-1 through its first 12 meets, and continues to sit high atop the state rankings. They are expected to heavily compete for a state crown later this winter.
