Young Artists Exhibit at Scotch Plains Public Library

This June, the public is invited to Scotch Plains Public Library for a display of the work of the young students of local artist Sandra Cerchio. Working in a variety of media, the artists, mostly teenagers, have created dozens of works that will be on view in the library gallery from June 11 through June 16. There will be an artists’ reception which the public is welcome to attend,  from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, June 13.

All Scotch Plains Public Library programs are free and open to the public. The Scotch Plains Library is located at 1927 Bartle Avenue, one block from Park Avenue in the center of town. The library’s web site is http://www.scotlib.org

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
