Youth Football: PAL Players of the Week

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Fanwood PAL contact football teams opened the 2017 season with two victories in the three games played on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Throughout this football season, the PAL will announce weekly players of the week for each of the five grade levels that compete in the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League. The PAL Players of this week are:

SPF PAL A TEAM
The eighth (8th) grade Raiders defeated Kenilworth, 34-0.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Kenny Agwu
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THW WEEK: Anthony Robinson

SPF PAL C TEAM
The sixth (6th) grade Raiders fell to Summit, 18-0.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Anthony Romano
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mika Liebowitz

SPF PAL D TEAM
The fifth (5th) grade Raiders defeated Summit, 25-0.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jacob Handy
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Xavier Vega

The B team seventh (7th) graders and E team fourth (4th) graders did not play this weekend.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Police Athletic League (PAL) was founded in 1991 as a volunteer organization. It aims to develop a friendly relationship between youngster and police officers and a spirit of respect for the law. The PAL emphasizes skill development, personal growth, and fun for for pre-high school boys and girls from both Scotch Plains and Fanwood. It runs youth football, flag football, girls softball, volleyball and cheerleading programs, and its volunteer coaches and administrators are police officers and other dedicated individuals who care about kids.
