SCOTCH PLAINS/NJ -- The youth group of Willow Grove Presbyterian Church will host a Brunch Bash on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Proceeds raised from the admission will support this summer’s mission trip to Stony Point, New York in July. Open seating is available for any size group.

Advanced registration is not required, but large groups are encouraged to reserve their space no later than April 24th by contacting the church office at 908-232-5678. The admission is $9 per person and $5 for kids age 8 and younger. The brunch will feature both traditional breakfast fare and various lunch items, with hot and cold selections, as well as fresh fruit and plenty of beverages to choose from.

This buffet-style event will be staffed entirely by the youth group and their adult advisors, many of whom will be participating in the summer mission trip. The youth group, named SIXTEEN13, is an active partner in Willow Grove Church’s mission work and an energized group of teens. The group’s name is inspired by the Bible verse from Corinthians encouraging the youth to be strong and stand firm. One youth group member comments, “To be able to stand firm in your faith is sometimes a difficult challenge. This verse inspires me to be courageous and strong so that I have a great relationship with the people in the world around me.” More of the youth group’s story can be found on the church website www.willowgrovechurch.org, or on the church’s Facebook page.

The summer mission trip which is being supported by this brunch event will take the youth and adult leaders to Stony Point, NY, where they will volunteer at local soup kitchens as well as doing painting and other hands-on mission work in the area. One does not need to be a church member to participate in the mission trip. For detailed information about the trip, contact the church office at 908-232-5678 or email office@willowgrovechurch.org. Willow Grove Presbyterian Church offers Sunday worship service at 10:00 a.m. All facilities are handicapped accessible and there is ample on-site parking. The church is located at 1961 Raritan Rd. in Scotch Plains off of S. Martine Ave. (across from the Southside soccer field). For more information call 908-232-5678.
