How to Deal with Difficult Family During The Holidays

Family get-togethers are not always easy. Many of us dread having to participate in some of the social events that take place during this time. We may begin to experience stress knowing that our gathering will involve some relatives or immediate family which we really do not like.

We may feel the tension building as we think about in-laws and/or relatives who have such strong ...

But, what about planning for things once our kids grow up? I am glad you asked because there are a number of things we can do as parents to help save for their future, whether it’s a college education, ...

November 27, 2018

Dear Editor:

Yesterday was a dark day for America. Donald Trump sanctioned the use of teargas on hundreds of men, women & children at the U.S. border to further bolster his own lies and grandstanding about the nature of these people and their motivations. The migrants at the border right now are refugees fleeing unthinkable violence in their home countries. To greet them with tear gas and ...

December 7, 2018

Decorating for the holidays can be a lot of fun and something many of us look forward to doing every year. After all, how often can you have a real live tree in your house?

Besides the Christmas tree, some of us also fill our homes with poinsettia plants, mistletoe and holiday candles. The bright red leaves of the plants, the red and white berries of the mistletoe (not to mention the kissing ...
