Dear Editor:

At the height of the aftermath of the storm, we had over 1,800 residents with power. As of 3:00 p.m. today, Fanwood still has 108 customers still without power.

I – alongside the police department and the DPW – continue to communicate with PSEG as we monitor the specific streets without power.

For those without power, the Fanwood Carriage House (located adjacent to Borough Hall at 75 North Martine Ave.) is open for charging and cooling off. Please wear a mask and continue to socially distance. Bottled water and outlets will be provided. Please come to the Fanwood Police Department, and we will unlock the door for you.

Due to the recent storm, The Department of Public Works will perform a special one-time curbside branch and storm debris pickup in all quadrants of the Borough beginning Monday, August 10. Residents are asked to place their debris curbside in the street by 7 am for pickup. If you have any questions, please call the Department at 908-322-7404.

As always, feel free to reach out either through Facebook or via email Stay safe everyone.

Mayor of Fanwood
