Dear Editor:

This Memorial Day, as we remember and recognize the millions of Americans who have sacrificed and fought so hard for our country and freedom, let us remember our local heroes and fathers who have bravely given so much.

William Stanley Brink was a Union County resident and U.S. Army Sergeant who fought for our country so valiantly in the Korean War. As a mechanic and engineer, Sergeant Brink secured our armed forces for the fierce battles and campaigns that enraged during the Korean War.

This Memorial Day, we salute and honor all those who fought and sacrificed their own safety for our country.

God Bless America. God Bless Our U.S. Military. May our American Flag forever wave.

In honor of my Dad, who is my personal hero, and all those who have served in Union County, my eternal gratitude.
