EDISON, NJ -- Nine Middle School students at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison attended, for the first time, the National Academic Quiz Tournament (NAQT) held at Middlesex County College on Sunday, March 10.
Students who competed in the NAQT were Shachee Kumar of Iselin, Abigail Ibironke of Piscataway, Vinay Karthik of Edison, Gbemi Olarewaju of Piscataway, Emma Rothrock-Steinfeld of South Plainfield, Diya Patel of Iselin, Luke Zuzovsky of Mountainside, Shourya Chhabra of Roselle Park and Phoebe Kaplan of Scotch Plains.
The W+H teams won four rounds! This is very impressive given the fact most teams have been participating for several years and practiced since September. W+H formed its teams in January and only practiced for two months before school, recess, and on occasional Saturdays.
