SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood Volleyball Senior Adelina Berisha helped Coach Adrienne Stack reach her 200th career win last week, and reached a milestone of her own on Wednesday, March 31, by notching her 500th kill, thus earning honors as this week’s Joint Motion Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week.

Berisha started her senior season with an impressive 53 kills, 7 blocks, 29 digs, and 15 aces and keeps adding to her totals. 

On Wednesday, against crosstown rival Union Catholic, a powerhouse in girls volleyball, Adelina notched her 500th career kill and became the first volleyball player in Scotch Plains-Fanwood history to do so.

"A huge milestone has been achieved -- 500 career kills, a school record! I could not be prouder of her growth and development this year," Coach Stack said. "Her efforts throughout this season maker her truly deserving of this achievement."

She is a key contributor and a big part of this team, according to her coach, Adrienne Stack.

“Adelina leads by example on the court. Her determination, drive and ambition to hunt down every ball is evident throughout each match. She is willing and able to play any position and run any play, which makes her an incredible asset to the team,” said Stack.

In the matches approaching Coach Stack's 200th career victory, Berisha had a few strong performances including team leading 13 kills and 5 blocks, adding 8 digs and 3 aces in a 2-1 win over Union. Berisha also had a team high 20 kills, as well as 1 block, 6 digs, and a single ace in a 2-1 loss to rival Westfield.
