SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- After a stellar performance at both the Union County Championships and the Spring Thaw Meet in Metuchen, as well as having a few members earn All-County and All-Conference Honors, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood girls winter Track & Field team are this week’s Joint Motion Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week.

Julia Jackson won the Union County Championship in the Girl’s 400-Meter Dash 57.15 seconds, breaking her own school record. Meanwhile, 3rd place was secured by Grace Kennedy with a time of 59.45 seconds. Also, during the Union County Championships, Jenai Berry finished in 2nd place for the Girl’s 800-Meter Run with a time of 2:25.50, just 3.3 seconds behind the winner.

In addition to their performance at the County Championships, the girls also excelled in Metuchen for the Spring Thaw, where they set a school record in the Girl’s 4 x 400 race. With a total time of 3:59.30, Kennedy, Gabby Crona, Berry, and Jackson won the race with splits of 58.66, 1:05.68, 58.48, 56.45.

Also, during the Spring Thaw, Kayla Paprocki won the 55-meter hurdles, Berry won the 800-meter race and Julia Jackson won the 200-meter race while also breaking the school record with a time of 25.31. Additionally, Jackson's 400 split on the 4 x 400 (56.45) was the fastest 400 split in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Track & Field program history.

Several Lady Raiders earned accolades of being named to the All-County and All-Conference teams for this season.

  • Gabby Crona - Second Team All-County — 3200
  • Grace Kennedy - Third Team All-County – 400
