Lemonade Stand Will Raise Money for Anti-Bullying Charity Mallory's Army

On July 14, 2019, Olivia Haley, Dante Castronuovo and Ian Weisholtz -- rising 3rd graders at Brunner Elementary School -- will hold their 3rd annual lemonade stand for charity at 2251 Old Farm Road in Scotch Plains from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with funds going directly to Mallory’s Army Foundation, which seeks to put an end to bullying.

In 2017, while kindergarten classmates, the kids had the idea to create a lemonade stand for charity and wound up raising more than $500 for Children’s Specialized Hospital. Buoyed by its success, the trio brought in nearly $1,300 in 2018 for Friends of Valley Brook, which helps veterans, and were recognized at a Fanwood Council meeting for their efforts. At the same meeting, Dianne Grossman, who started Mallory’s Army after her daughter took her own life after being bullied, was also honored for her work. The kids were inspired listening to Grossman and the idea for this year’s lemonade stand took hold.

This year, Olivia’s little brother, Grant, and Ian’s younger brother, Miles – themselves kindergarten classmates with the same teacher Olivia, Ian and Dante had – will join the cause at this year’s stand, inspired by the work of their siblings.

This is an important cause and the community has done an amazing job the last two years supporting our kids and the charities they have learned about. We hope you can join us for a fun day while raising money. If you can’t make it, please consider donating. If you can’t make it to the lemonade stand, but would still like to donate to this worthy cause, please visit our donation page:
