Never Caught Book Club with Dr. Linda Caldwell Epps at ScotLib

On Thursday, February 15 at 7 pm  Dr. Linda Caldwell Epps will lead a book discussion at the Scotch Plains Public Library. A library favorite, Dr. Epps returns to discuss Never Caught: The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of their Runaway Slave by Erica Armstrong Dunbar.  A revelatory account of the actions taken by the first president to retain his slaves in spite of Northern laws, Dunbar describes the intense manhunt that ensued when Washington’s slave Ona Judge ran away. A limited number of books will be available to borrow beginning February 1. Registration is required.

Two Kilos of Heroin Seized from Drug Trafficking Suspect on Route 22

UNION COUNTY, NJ – Two kilograms of heroin were seized from an Indianapolis man traveling through Union County last week on Route 22 in Union, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
