SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The doors may be closed, but there is still plenty going on at the Scotch Plains Public Library’s digital branch.
Now that online services are everywhere in our lives, and even COBOL programming is back in the news, on Wednesday, May 6 at 7pm technology writer Evan Koblentz will talk about the important role New Jersey has played in the history of computing. Check the library website for more information.
On Thursday, May 14 at 7 pm, join librarians for “What Are You Watching?”--an informal get-together on Zoom to chat about whatever you’ve been watching while you’re safe at home, whether you’re using the library’s resources or your personal collection.
On Thursday, May 21 at 7:00, the Cookbook Club will be hosting its book club virtually so its many dedicated members can stay connected! We invite you to find and make a frittata recipe, and share the results with us via Zoom.
Stop by the Virtual Craft & Chat on Thursday, May 28 at 7 pm. Join Adult Services librarians and other craft hobbyists for some virtual connection. Bring along your work in progress while we craft together and chat about how hobbies help get through this unique time.
Finally, join us every Tuesday night on Facebook at 8 pm for First Chapter: Virtual Storytime for Adults. Each week, a librarian will spotlight one of the many great books from the RBdigital Collection by reading the first chapter.
With the exception of the Virtual Storytimes, all of the events above require registration on the library’s website. Registered participants will receive a Zoom link via email a day or two before the meeting.
