SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Able Body Spa (405 Park Ave., Scotch Plains) celebrated its recent expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house that included tours of the new space, demonstrations of its skincare products and services, free chair massages, door prizes and light refreshments, including treats from the Dessert Ladies.
Ruth Wolinksky, who opened the business on Park Ave. in 2015, said the additional space enables her to put massage rooms on the first floor, rather than on the downstairs level, which is helpful for people who had a hard time navigating the stairs.
"Some of our older customers weren't able to visit our downstairs rooms, so we moved the massage rooms to the first floor when the additional space became available," said Wolinsky.
On hand to help celebrate were Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith, Council members Ted Spera and Elizabeth Stamler, Deputy Township Manager Margaret Heisey, and Redevelopment Coordinator Tom Strowe, along with Gene Jannotti of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and Lisa Mohn of the Scotch Plains Business and Professional Organization.
Able Body Spa offers a full service nail and hair salon in addition to many spa services.
