FANWOOD, NJ -- This year, Fanwood had the distinction of being voted the winner of New Jersey Monthly magazine's inaugural "Small Town Showdown" contest in which the Borough emerged No. 1 among notable communities, including Boonton, Chester, Point Plesasant Beach, and Lamberville, among others.

To market the distinction, the borough has created a special logo to commemorate the designation.

"The idea came up during one of our recent small business roundtables," Fanwood's Director of Economic Development Liz Jeffery said. "The logo will be printed so that business owners can put the logo in their windows and on their doors."

Additionally, the Borough is investigating putting up signage that will be visible at the Fanwood train station "so that NJ Transit riders can see they are traveling through the best small town in New Jersey on their way to and from work each day."
