Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith Talks Downtown Development at Farmers Market

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Mayor Al Smith and newly hired Project Coordinator for Redevelopment Tom Strowe made themselves available to township residents on Saturday at the Scotch Plains Farmers Market.

The mayor answered questions on the township's affordable housing obligation (expected to be 450 new units total when the final decision is made with the state), population density, zoning, and attracting businesses to downtown. 

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, the Scotch Plains Redevelopment Committee will hold its next meeting at the Municipal Building (430 Park Ave.) at 6:30 p.m.
