SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Mayor Al Smith and members of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce helped officially open the new Dunkin Donuts-W's Fresh Mart convenience store-gas station with a ribbon-cutting on North Ave. in Scotch Plains on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Participants included owner Devendra Patel and his family, Scotch Plains Township Manager Al Mirabella, Council members Elizabeth Stamler and Ted Spera, Gene Jannotti of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (GWACC), and Tom Strowe, Scotch Plains Township's redevelopment coordinator.

The celebration included an appearance from the Dunkin mascot, who poured coffees and danced for patrons. Kids got to try their hand at donut decorating.

"I'm glad to be here today, because as the sign says, 'Scotch Plains runs on Dunkin'," said Mayor Al Smith, as he welcomed the new business to the Township.
