WESTFIELD, NJ — Santa Claus is coming to town, and it’s likely he’ll be wearing sunglasses.
Downtown Westfield Corporation announced that “Westfield Winter Wonderland in July” is set for Sunday, July 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Quimby Street.
“Family fun activities and crafts will abound once again as Quimby Street becomes pedestrian only for this family-friendly event,” the announcement said.
The announcement from Downtown Westfield Corporation detailed a series of happenings including, of course, a summer-themed Santa.
Participants are invited to take a photo with “Summer Santa and make their own picture frame with Little Nest Photography.”
Last year, “Summer Santa” showed up wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap and a Hawaiian shirt.
The public is invited to decorate cookies with Farinolio and Bovella’s Pastry Shop, and color an official “Westfield Winter Wonderland” T-Shirt with the James Ward Mansion.
Other activities will include making “reindeer pretzels” and enjoying ice cream with Kilwins Westfield.
Valencia School of Music will play “songs of the season.” Children can decorate a crown from the movie “Frozen” with Patricia & Paul Artisans of Fine Oils and Balsamics.
Savory Spice Shop will serve “Cold Mulled Cider.” Dreidel spinning will also be featured at the winter party.
The event is free and open to the public. The first 400 people to register will receive a free toy duck, Downtown Westfield Corporation announced. Register at this link.
The event is part of the Downtown Westfield Corporation’s “Second Sundays” featuring a different event on the second Sunday of summer months.
