SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- A Service of Remembrance will be offered for Joseph Donatelli, 69, of Scotch Plains, who died on Thursday, Nov. 21. It will take place at Rossi Funeral Home (1937 Westfield Ave. Scotch Plains), this Saturday, Nov. 30, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Joseph Donatelli was born in Plainfield and was a lifelong resident of Scotch Plains. He retired in 2008 after more than 40 years at Eastern Marble & Granite Supply, a family business for which he was founding member and served as president. He was a member of the Marble Institute of American and the Building Stone Institute.
Mr. Donatello was a member of the Scotch Plains Business & Professional Association, a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 209, and a member of the Poetry Hall of Fame. He was an avid collector of coins, arrowheads, and space flight gear and expressed interest in geology, space, and science. He also loved his dogs and his garden.
Joseph is survived by his two brothers Thomas (Nina) and John (Anne); his nine sisters Kathryn Donatelli, Mary Ann Reilly (Richard),Virginia Perrotti (Ray) Rosalie Donatelli (Matthew), Maggie Griffin (Scott), Josephine Donatelli, Ann Marie Carter (Jonathan), Elizabeth Bianchi (Christopher), and Laura Walker (Allen); his 15 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
