SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Township of Scotch Plains in partnership with the Historical Society of Scotch Plains and Fanwood is offering something new this year as part of the Union County Four Centuries in a Weekend event.  On Sunday, Oct. 20, senior citizens will have the opportunity to board a bus to visit the historically significant township landmarks both in Scotch Plains and Fanwood via a guided tour. 

“We are happy to provide this service to our residents who might have transportation challenges and want to enjoy the great historical sites we have in Scotch Plains and Fanwood,” says Mayor Al Smith. “We are fortunate to have so much of that history documented and preserved.” 

Participants will travel as a group to each location for a short informative visit  Admission is free, space is limited.  Register by contacting the Recreation Department in Scotch Plains at 908-322-6700 ext. 223. You can read more about the sites and the Historical Society at www.historicalsocietyspfnj.org
