SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District observed International Walk to School Day on Wednesday. A number of local leaders participated, including Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith and Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr at Coles School, Scotch Plains Councilman Ted Spera at McGinn School, and  Councilwoman Elizabeth Stamler at School One.

Each October, millions of children around the world participate in Safe Kids Walk This Way events for International Walk to School Day.
