ALLENTOWN, PA -- For their final competitive performance of the 2019 season, the Scotch Plains Fanwood Raiders Marching Band traveled to Allentown, PA, on Saturday, Nov. 2, to be judged along with 33 other bands at the USBands National Championship.  The band earned a season high score of 92.460 and a 3rd place finish in their division.

The Raiders Marching Band is directed by Durand Thomas, along with Assistant Director John Gillick and Color Guard Director Jackie Tumolo. Student Drum Majors were Joe Elkin, Emelyne Johns, and Emma O’Brien. The band's 2019 show was titled Bocetos de España (”Sketches of Spain”).

The Scotch Plains Fanwood Music Boosters congratulate the band members and staff for their successful season and look forward to continuing to serve the district's music programs throughout the school year.
