EDISON, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Fanwood Raiders Marching Band performed their latest show, “Bocetos de España” (“Sketches of Spain”), at Edison High School on September 14, and in their first competition of the 2019 season, they brought home a First Place trophy for their division with an overall score of 74.438 and caption awards for Best Visuals and Best Music.
The 115-member band is directed by Durand Thomas. Additional band staff includes Assistant Director John Gillick and Color Guard Director Jackie Tumolo. Student Drum Majors are Joe Elkin, Emelyne Johns, and Emma O’Brien.
The Scotch Plains Fandwood Music Boosters congratulate the band and welcome everyone to attend their next performance at the 21st annual Marching Band Festival at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School on September 21, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens. Food, drinks, and 50/50 raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
