VIRTUAL -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Music Boosters congratulated all of the SPFHS Music and Theatre students in the graduating class of 2020 with a virtual Senior Recognition Night that debuted on YouTube (link below) on Thursday, June 18.
"Your senior year has truly been like no other, but we hope this video reminds you that your teachers are proud of ALL that you've accomplished and will continue to applaud you for your talent and your strength, no matter where life takes you after high school." -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Music Boosters
"This class has certainly risen to the occasion and become a class that we will never forget," said SPFK12 District supervisor of fine arts Wayne Mallette. "We would have all rather have been at the auditorium to celebrate your achievements, but we still do not want to let this year go by without taking the time to honor you and say thank you for all that you have done for our musical and theater program."
"I'm so excited for you. For a lot of you, this is where we had our best memories. There are so many things that we may feel we missed out on, but I'm going to choose to remember all the good times we had," said Joan Allen. "What's so special about the music department is that.. we can find each other through music and develop friendships that are long-lasting and meaningful. As a teacher, making music is why I am here and I love sharing that experience."
Students also heard from marching band director Durand Thomas, Music Boosters co-president Eric Fisher, Director Morgan Night, and their classmates, as well.
