FANWOOD, NJ -- Fresh off its primary victory on Tuesday, June 4, the Fanwood Democratic Committee met and reorganized on Monday, June 10, and named Kevin Boris as chair, according to a report by InsiderNJ.

"Tonight Fanwood Democratic committee members who were elected in the primary met and voted in our chairman and other officers," said Mayor Colleen Mahr, who led the Column B team and will serve as the vice chair. "We are keeping our values and leaders local!"

Mahr and her Column B ticket swept the male and female seats in Fanwood's seven districts in last week's primary voting.

On Tuesday, June 11, Union County Democrats will meet at Kean University to elect the Union County Chair, a position won by State Senator Nick Scutari in a vote in February 2018 following the resignation of then-Chairman Jerry Green. Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr, vice chair of the Union County Democrats, challenged Scutari for the top spot, but lost by 71 votes in a contest that was closer than orignally expected.
