SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr basked in the affection and the turnout for her Thursday evening fundraiser held at Darby Road in Scotch Plains.

Attendees included Kathy Mitchell, Jeff Banks and Francine Glaser, who are running on the Democratic ticket for Fanwood Council seats alongside Mayor Mahr, who is running unopposed, on Nov. 5. Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi, Union County Surrogate James S. LaCorte, Westfield Mayor Shelley Brindle, and other area Democrats were also in attendance.

Councilwoman Mitchell, Councilman Banks and Glaser, a relative newcomer, will face two Republican challengers: perennial candidate Brian Walter and Jay Morris, who is on the ballot for the first time. is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s only free daily local news source.
