SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Havana Mia Cuban restaurant, located at 2510 Route 22 East, Scotch Plains, (at the former Burger King), held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, July 29.

Township officials and members of the Scotch Plains Business & Professionals Association and Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce were on hand to help celebrate the opening. 

The restaurant offers an extensive Cuban cuisine menu, including Cubano sandwiches (ham, pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard), Costillas a la parrilla (BBQ ribs), Pollo asado (roast chicken) with rice and beans.
The restaurant also offers desserts, such as Tres Leches cake, flan (carmel custard), and fried plantains.

The restaurant plans a public grand opening a little later in the summer, according to owner Erika Concepcion.
