UNION, NJ – The Chick-fil-A on Route 22 in Union has been ordered to close its drive-through until further notice.
In a lawsuit brought against the Chick-fil-A by its neighbor Pita Shack, LLC, a temporary restraining order has been put into place against the fast food restaurant, which “may be dissolved upon two (2) days notice per the reasons set forth in the record”, but that preliminary restraints in the matter are set to be heard on December 18.
Although not outlined in the restraining order, the Chick-fil-A has been the scene of traffic problems since its opening in 2013. Chick-fil-A drive-through customers in line for ordering and pick-up at times wind around the entire site, which includes the Pita Shack and a 7-11 store. The site is accessible from both the east- and westbound sides of Route 22. According to Chick fil-A's website, their indoor dining room remains closed due to the pandemic.
