SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Saturday brought the long-awaited return of the Scotch Plains Farmers Market in downtown Scotch Plains.
The event features annual vendors, such as Ort Farms, and Stella's Empanadas, as well as new vendors, such as award-winning Jersey Spirits Distilling Co., which produces handmade small batch craft spirits. Co-founder John Granata will even offer a little sip of his innovative products, including Apple Pie Hooch, Patriots Trail Bourbon, and Barnegat White Maple Bourbon.
This Saturday, the "Best of the Best" vendors are returning for the 29th season with new hours from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week. This year expects to be bigger and better, with a promise to bring an even greater selection of fresh foods from diverse vendors.
We ask customers - whether vaccinated or not - to please wear masks as they shop.
Live entertainment will be provided by the Chris Turner and ClearStream Band with their popular mix of country and rock. You'll hear plenty of cover tunes from Johnny Cash, The Beatles, The Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel as others.
