Chefs from around the globe are competing in this online competition to be named the world's Favorite Chef, receive a $50,000 cash prize, and be featured in a two-page advertising spread in Bon Appétit announcing the winner. Favorite Chef will also make a donation to Feeding America®, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger through a nationwide network of food banks. For more than 40 years, Feeding America has provided nourishing food to people who are facing food insecurity while actively working to end the cycle of poverty and hunger.
Jones is excited about the opportunity and feels blessed by the support he has already received. He says he developed his passion for cooking as a teenager learning to cook soulful traditional comfort food. His signature dish is braised short ribs smothered in a rosemary wine reduction topped with onions and mixed peppers. ("It's a client favorite," he says.)
If he comes out on top, what will he do with the $50,000 prize?
"If I win, I will use the money to help keep my catering business running, so I can continue to serve my hometown community and continue partnership with our Friends of Valley Brook to feed our veterans," Jones said. "During these tough times it would be a true blessing. We have had so much support and I hope my followers will continue to support me."
