SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The sun returned on Saturday, as did the Scotch Plains Farmers Market, which runs 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from May 11 through mid-November next to the Municipal Building at 430 Park Ave. in downtown Scotch Plains.
"This is a great turnout for the first day of the season," said Jeff Stein, who co-manages the market with Lisa Mohn of Apple Blossom Flower Show and the Scotch Plains Business and Professionals Association.
Mayor Al Smith and Deputy Township Manager Margaret Heisey were on hand to kick things off and to demonstrate how to make a healthy salad.
