SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY -- Satur Farms, a Whole Foods vendor based in Cutchogue, NY, has voluntarily recalled its Baby Spinach and Mesclun with the specific lot numbers listed below because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
This retail product is packed in plastic clamshell containers with Satur Farms brand name in 5 oz., 10 oz., and 16 oz. sizes. Look for Spinach Lot #18494, Spinach Lot #18513, and Mesclun Lot #18520 packed prior to Jan. 20, 2019.
The voluntary recall is being initiated following routine sampling by Florida Department of Agriculture and New York State Department of Agriculture and markets. Consumption of this product by consumers represents a potential health hazard, however, there have been no reported illnesses, according to an announcement from Satur Farms, which is asking retailers that carry the greens to discontinue selling their existing stock of these products.
