SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Representatives from American Legion Post 209 visited BSA Troop 104 on Monday, Nov. 25. Post Commander Kevin Burns and Joe McCourt explained the history of the American Legion, shared the 4 pillars that the organization was founded on, and described the services that the group provides to veterans and the local community.  The Scouts were invited to participate in youth programs such as Boys State and the Oratorical Contest.

Following the discussion, the Scouts presented a donation of popcorn which will be distributed to military veterans at the Lyons VA Hospital. The donation was made possible thanks to local residents who helped to support Scouting through the Troop's annual popcorn sale.
