CROP WALK Oct. 27 for disaster victims and Food Banks

Please plan to join the Scotch Plains/Fanwood CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, Oct. 27, starting at  2:00 p.m. from the Dhammakaya Meditation Center at 257 Midway Ave. with sign-in beginning at 1:30 p.m. Click HERE to get started.

CROP Hunger Walks are a source of income for more than 1,500 local food banks and soup kitchens in the U.S.  25% of funds raised will come back to our local community for help with food, transportation and emergency utilities payments.  The Walks support sustainable water and food projects and disaster assistance globally. For more information, go to crophungerwalk.org and click on “About”.

The Walk is 2-3 miles with a shortcut for those who need it. Those not able to be Crop Walkers can be Crop Rockers-- sitting outside in rocking chairs in the company of others and witnessing to the many cars on Midway Ave., while still raising money. Volunteers to walk or rock can pick up a “Donation Envelope”, for checks or cash collected, from August Ruggiero or from the Willow Grove church office at 1961 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, 908-232-5678.
