FANWOOD, NJ -- Fanwood business owner Joe Cirincione will be competing for the third consecutive year in the annual New York City Decathlon, a ten-event amateur competition that has raised millions of dollars for pediatric cancer patients through a consortium led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Joe is the owner of J. Ciro Designs, a successful online seller of watches, cufflinks and accessories. Last year, he and his team, Team Undrafted, raised a total of $25,000. This year, they’ve already raised more than $18,000 towards their goal of breaking last year’s $25,000 mark. The 2018 team, pictured, includes, left to right, friends Matt Anuszkiewicz, Andrew Poulson, Joe’s brother Steve Cirincione and Joe. The brothers have always been close, playing various sports together since they were kids and continuing their interest in sports into their adult lives.
“Last year, our team was proud to finish in seventh place in New York, and 9th overall across the country,” said Joe. “We were astounded by the generosity of our family, friends and colleagues whose support helped us raise $25,000 to benefit pediatric cancer patients at the MSKCC. This year, Team Undrafted is training harder than ever, aspiring to shatter last year’s fundraising mark and put forth our best competition results yet.”
